Redevelopment of the FRC’s Headquarters at Mount Pleasant

The redevelopment effort to re-establish the FRC’s headquarters destroyed by a mysterious fire in 2018, has commenced. Preliminary architectural drawings have been presented to the FRC membership.

The Monsignor Patrick Anthony Folk Research Centre was housed on one acre of land at Mount Pleasant. The building was first constructed in the 1900’s and consisted of three floors, a veranda to the south and the east, and ruins of servants’ quarters and garage to the north. Unfortunately, the building was completely demolished by a mysterious fire on the night of March 2018. All of the prized collection of artifacts and books accumulated over a period of 45 years, were lost.

The FRC is determined to rebuild and improve its headquarters for a return to its home at Mount Pleasant. As a result, the organization has commenced plans to achieve this major milestone.

More information will be made available to the public at a later date, including an architectural representation of what the rebuilt headquarters will look like.
