MACHIN KWENM LAGLAS (ICE-CREAM MAKER)

On outer part, the ice was placed inside the open chamber, together with salt, to help preserve the ice. Powdered milk (klim), together with butter was placed in the inner part. The lever would be turned to churn the ice cream

For brewing ground coffee the old fashion way

GWAJ KOUTLA (CUTLASS GRATER)

The head of an old cutlass is sharpened with a hacksaw to form the jagged edges and then a file is used to sharpen it. It can be used to grate coconut.

LÉLÉ (SWIZZLE STICK)

A wooden stirrer (with three to five lags at the end) made from a tree branch, that is used to stir liquids.

(PÒTÉCHIVÈT ÈK BÉSIN (CHAMBER JUG & CHAMBER BASIN)

The two were used as bathroom utensils. The pot was used for storing water which was used in the basin in times

PÉL (CHAMBER PAIL)

This was sometimes used as a portable toilet

PÒT CHANM (CHAMBER POT)

This is a handheld bathroom utensil used for defecation and urination.

JÈ (JAR)

It was used to store water. A piece of sulphur was placed into the jar to keep the water fresh.

JWÉ DOSYÉ (PORTABLE TURN TABLE)

A platform with a track for a phonograph (music) record

BOUTONNYÉ (BUTTONHOLE MACHINE)

A manual machine used for sewing buttonholes.
