A story of Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant is located off Calvary Road with a panoramic view of Castries City and the harbor, set on the crest of the Mount Pleasant ridge, just below the point where it joins with the Morne Du Don ridge. The area had become the home of the Folk Research Centre since it moved into the premises on August 15, 1993. Unfortunately, it was burned down on March 25, 2018. While the building was clearly of Victorian/Georgian architecture, it was also a prime example of Euro-Caribbean hybrid architecture.

The FRC hopes to rebuild its home at Mount Pleasant and continue to share this unique experience with the Saint Lucian public and other visitors.
